The Human Services Department is committed to improving the welfare of Lemont Township residents by administering local assistance during hardships or emergency crisis situations. We work as a liaison with the Lemont Open Food Pantries, Lemont Police Department, PLOWS Council on Aging, Salvation Army, The Community Service Council, Lemont Lions Club, Lemont Knights of Columbus, Lemont Junior Women’s Club, CNNSSA (Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association, AARP, Age Options, CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association) GAP (General Assistance Providers), Secretary of State, Cook County Sheriff, Lemont Park District, and Lemont S.A.L.T. (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) as well as School District 113a and School District 210.
We also help provide resources and referrals to residents to enable an independent lifestyle. Through our Medvan program, we schedule rides for medical appointments that provide transportation for seniors and the disabled to locations outside the Lemont Township boundaries. This program is available through the generosity of our wonderful volunteer drivers, so it is requested that we have at least 48 hours advance notice of any upcoming ride requests.
